RVHS hosted Riverside on Monday for their last regular season softball games. The Panthers split winning the first game by run rule 16-7 but losing the second game in 8 innings 8-9.

In game 1 Devon Rodewald led the team in RBIs with 6 on 4 hits, including a 3-run home run. The Panthers and Cyclones exchanged leads multiple times until the Panthers finally pulled away in the 5th and 6th innings. Athena Broaddus was in the circle for the Panthers. She tallied 5 strikeouts and allowed 10 hits and 7 runs, although only 2 were earned as the home team had their share of errors. The Panthers collected 13 hits in the game with Broaddus, Tyjha Henderson and Dasno Mills and having multiple-hit nights.

After the first game, the four seniors and their parents were introduced to the crowd gathered in Hoyt City Park. Callie Coleman, Dru Probst, Devon Rodewald and Mac Schmidt walked out with their parents and received gifts from their teammates.

In game 2, the scoring again was a back-and-forth affair. The Panthers couldn't come from behind this time and fell 8-9 in 8 innings.

Riverside did not have enough players for a JV, so RVHS hosted Shawnee Heights Monday. The Panthers lost 0-9 in both games to the T-Birds.

The Panthers will close out their varsity home games on Saturday, April 27 with a tournament in Hoyt City Park. Osage City, Atchison and Hayden will play RV in a quad. The JV will host Seaman on Monday, April 29 in Hoyt Park for a doubleheader starting at 4:30 pm.
