RVHS baseball team celebrated the seniors on Monday, April 22 between their games against the combined team from Riverside and Doniphan West. The Panthers lost both games 4-16 and 17-25.
The four seniors and their parents were introduced to the crowd as they walked down the 3rd baseline toward home plate. After that, Tyson Parks was awarded the RV Recreation Association $750 scholarship.
Tyson commented, "The rec scholarship process wasn't too extensive; it was a short little essay and a couple questions. This year it was about how you can give back to your community. It has been a fun 4 years. Everyone knows this wasn't the best year to play with the Royal Valley baseball team, but it was still fun and I still challenge everybody out there to compete and compete and get better. Double-sporting as a senior is a lot of work. There's a lot of missed practices, but it's going to be a lot of work doing two sports while everyone else is most likely doing one."
