To kick off the 8th Grade American History Pirate Project, Dr. Bliss' students used Play-Doh to mold objects that represent their current knowledge of pirates (such as ships, treasure chests, maps, or symbols they associate with pirate life). This hands-on activity encourages imagination, activates prior knowledge, and helps assess what students already know about the topic before diving deeper into the project. Using Play-Doh as an educational tool is a fun and engaging way to help students express their understanding creatively.
Here are some pictures of their skillful and artistic designs!
