Ms. Douglas

Ms. Douglas currently serves as the President of the Kansas School Counselor Association (KSCA). She has been a member of the KSCA board since August 2021, previously serving as Secretary. In her role as President, she represents and supports school counselors across the state through advocacy, professional development, and collaboration.

One of her favorite parts of serving on the board is the opportunity to connect with other school counselors and work together to advocate for the profession—a role that ultimately benefits students across Kansas. Being on the board has also allowed her to stay up to date on emerging trends, continue her professional growth, and even travel to new places.

Ms. Douglas began working as the Royal Valley Middle School Counselor in the fall of 2017, making this her ninth year at RVMS. She chose this career path because of her love for learning, academics, and schools—paired with her own experiences as a student who didn’t always fit the traditional mold. That perspective inspired her to become an advocate for students who need support and encouragement to thrive.

She feels fortunate to have returned to the very school that helped shape her into the person she is today and hopes to give back to students in the same way her teachers and mentors once did for her.

Recently, Ms. Douglas wrote an article for the KSCA website, which can be found here:
