Concert

On April 30, the RVHS Band held its final concert of the school year, highlighting the dedication, growth, and hard work the students have put in throughout the year. The performance showcased a variety of musical selections that demonstrated both individual talent and ensemble excellence.

The band performed three major works, including “Highland Cathedral,” which featured the Kansas Territorial Pipe and Drum duo. A special highlight of the evening was a 30th anniversary performance of the Native American Singers and Dancers collaboration originally premiered at KMEA. This powerful selection included “Nishnahbah” and “Trail,” with dancers performing alongside the music to create a moving and memorable experience for the audience. The concert concluded with the energetic final piece, “Firebirds.”

Additional performances throughout the evening included a flute quartet featuring Mac Nelson, Evangeline Decker, Arianna Smith, and Byokee Martinez, as well as the RVHS Percussion Ensemble’s performance of “Hidden Dreams,” both of which showcased the depth of talent within the program.

The evening concluded with Mrs. Kimble recognizing this year’s graduating seniors: Saniya Betts, Taylor Bienhoff, Olivia Cook, Trystan Murata, Addison Samek, and Carsyn Nocktonick. The final concert served as a meaningful celebration of their accomplishments and contributions to the RVHS Band program.
