Today, guest speaker Vern Strecker from Independence, Kansas, visited the Intro to Agriculture and Agriscience classes at RVHS! Mr. Strecker demonstrated how to turn a pork butt into sausage, walking students through the entire process from start to finish.
Students observed each step - cutting and preparing the meat, grinding it, adding seasoning, and cooking the final product. Mr. Strecker shared that he and his family make more than 250 pounds of sausage each year, giving students a real-world look at food production and processing.
To top it off, students were able to sample the finished product!
Thank you to Mr. Strecker for taking the time to provide such an engaging and educational demonstration for our RVHS students! Also, a huge thank you to Jace Johnson's family for donating the pork butts!
