On Wednesday, February 18th, Seniors Saniya Betts and Sarah Lake, along with junior A'Jaun Smith, visited the Kansas State Capitol for JAG-K day at the Capitol. The students were able to meet with Representatives Ron Ellis and Senator Craig Bowser. Students also went on a historical tour and visited with other JAG-K programs around the state.
Senior Saniya Betts said, "Going to the capital for JAG-K was a really fun experience. It was interesting to see how the law works behind the scenes, watching how laws are discussed and how senators and representatives do their jobs was cool. I feel like it also gave me a better understanding of the legislative process and how decisions that effect us are made."
