Ms. Baxter's students in science class are diving into how the nervous system and muscular system work together to influence reaction time. This week, they completed a hands-on reaction time lab comparing how quickly they responded in an attentive environment versus a distracted one.
After analyzing their data, students connected their results to real life by discussing what happens when the brain is distracted, especially the powerful impact of using phones while driving. The lab sparked great conversations about body systems, safety, and how quickly our bodies need to respond to protect us.
Not only are students learning more about science, they are building awareness, and applying it to the real world!
