Every child matters shirts

Mrs. Carlson’s Entrepreneurship class — consisting of Binx Kitchakommie, Isabella Wheeler, Hadley Schuetz, Katelyn Macintosh, and Arianna Faulkner — took on a meaningful project in honor of Every Child Matters Day, recognized by the Royal Valley School District on Tuesday, September 30th.

This year's design was drawn by a Paw Print member and RVHS junior, Binx Kitchkommie. She chose to use sweetgrass in her design for its use as a sacred, medicinal plant within the  Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation. She wanted to incorporate its connection to purification and healing with Orange Shirt day.

The students produced all of the shirts for the event, selling an impressive 185 shirts and raising $1,800 in total. All proceeds were generously donated to the Orange Shirt Society in support of the Every Child Matters movement.
