On Friday, October 3rd, Royal Valley hosted its Homecoming football game against Perry-Lecompton High School. To kick off the evening, the Royal Valley Cross Country team carried the game ball 31 miles from Perry-Lecompton High School to the Royal Valley football field—a cherished tradition that has continued for the past nine years.
The game itself was a hard-fought battle, ending with a close score of Royal Valley 24 – Perry-Lecompton 27. Cross country runner Asia Montague shared, “The football team had a good fight. Even though it wasn’t the outcome we wanted, it was still a good game to watch.”
Despite the tough loss, the night was filled with Panther pride, community spirit, and celebration, which is a true reflection of what Homecoming is all about.
