Students have access to free databases for research simply by living in Kansas. Simply go to http://kslib.info/students to begin. From there click on "Online Resources" on the left. There you will see research databases broken down into several main categories like Health, Business and Technology and Job & Career Accelerator.

There are lots of options under each category. You can get full-text articles, e-books, citation help, ACT prep, GED tips and much more.

Sarah Goodwin Thiel, Bayliss Harsh, and Carmen Orth-Alfie at KU Libraries' Center for Community Affiliate Initiatives shared a wonderful resource they have put together for high school students, teachers, and librarians around writing, research and study skills, to support college readiness. FREE ONLINE HOMEWORK HELP LAUNCHED

The Kansas Homework Help Center is now online and ready for student use. In order to access it, you must have a Kansas Library Card, which can be obtained at a public library. You can access the Kansas Homework Help at www.homeworkkansas.org. Tutors are available from 4 pm to 11 pm seven days a week and from 4 pm to 9 pm Sunday through Thursday in Spanish.

CITING SOURCES FOR PAPERS

Students who need help citing sources for English classes or other course work can find help online. The Citation Machine is available online for students to input the information needed to create the citation, whether they are using APA or MLA format. Simply click on the link above and choose APA or MLA format. Then enter your information (author, title, copyright, etc.) and the Citation Machine will help you put your information in the correct format.
