Why Golf

If you're not planning on doing track, baseball, softball, then consider golf. It's not too late, you can still go out for golf. If you don't have clubs, Mr. McClane has clubs you can borrow for the season.

ETIQUETTE

Golf is known for it’s un-written rules like never walking on your playing partners’ putting line, shaking hands at the end of each round, & the way everyone in the group gets together to help look for strayed golf balls. The game teaches good manners & respect &; this is something we should be proud of as golfers.

THERE’S NOTHING BETTER THAN PLAYING A LOVELY COURSE ON A SUNNY DAY

Golf on a warm, summer’s day w/ your pals on a lovely course cannot be beaten, can it?

YOU CAN COMPETE W/ ANYONE DESPITE CONTRASTING ABILITIES

Thanks to the handicap system, golfers of all different abilities can compete against one another on a level playing field. You can compete against a professional, what other sport can you do that in?

YOU CAN EAT AND DRINK WHILE YOU PLAY

You can walk down the fairway eating anything form a banana to last night’s dinner. What other sport can you do that?

NO AGE LIMIT

Tiger Woods started when he was 2 & the world’s oldest golfer was 103. Every club has a junior & a seniors section. Golf is enjoyed by people of all different ages which is unseen in most other sports.

REWARDING

Golf can be extremely agonizing, frustrating, but that is what makes it rewarding. That feeling when you break 100, 90, 80, is a momentous occasion & realize it was all worth it.

YOU CAN PRACTICE ANYWHERE (literally)

At the club, the range, the garden, the office, the living room – anywhere

PROFESSIONAL CAREERS ARE LONGER IN GOLF THAN MOST SPORTS

Golfers in their 50’s are winning tournaments. Very few sports does that happen.

NO ROUND OF GOLF IS EVER THE SAME

“Don’t you get bored?” The conditions are never the same. The courses are not the same. Every shot is different.

Meet in the gym commons after school. If you want to go out, but don’t have clubs, show up anyway.
